In compliance with Article IV,
Section 10, of the Bylaws of the Supreme Chapter, this report is hereby
tendered by the Secretary.
During 2001, a total of 665 new members were elected (631 in 2000); subdivided
into 3 areas: 526 alumni (498 in 2000), 112 faculty (104 in 2000), and 27
honorary (29 in 2000). Sixty-seven certificates of life membership were
conferred. No certificates of recognition were presented.
Twenty chapters failed to comply with Article X, Section 7 of the Supreme Chapter Bylaws by failing to pay their dues by December 31, 2001.
Two chapters failed to have a delegate at the
2001 Annual Business Meeting.
These chapters were notified by letter concerning their absences and were
referred to Article X, Section 7 of the Bylaws regarding loss of recognition if
their delegate is again absent in 2002.
A solicitation was made of the component chapters for the names of individuals whom they would recommend for officership in the Supreme Chapter. The Nominating Committee reviewed the applications submitted.
Lap top computers were purchased for the Secretary-Treasurer and the Corresponding Secretary.
This report concludes with the Secretary-Treasurer's annual appeal to component
chapter secretaries to provide the information necessary for the operation of
the Central Office in the maintenance of accurate files (most important are the
Necrology and the annual reports.)
