Editor's
Report |
-I am pleased to report that the 2002 Bulletin was placed on-line in October 2002.
-Although a request was made of all component chapter secretaries in May 2002 and again in August 2002, only six (6) chapters responded with activities and pictures for inclusion on the "Component Chapter Activities" page of the website.
-Once again an "Annual Report" form was available on the website. Thirty-eight (38) chapter secretaries made use of the form in order to submit an annual chapter report, which is a sixty-seven percent (67%) response. An annual chapter report is required to be submitted by each component chapter secretary under our bylaws.
-Once again this year the website provided a significant savings to this society in that the Minutes of the 2002 Annual Business Meeting were placed on the website and available for download. It was not necessary to pay for duplication and mailing of this information to the component chapter delegates.
-All our various order forms (membership & insignia, Kramer, etc.) were once again available on the website for download. These forms are interactive, in that the fields on the form may be filled in before printing. Once again this represented a considerable savings in duplication and postage.
-This year an emergency notice was placed on the website as to the location, time and date of our annual business meeting in order to update our chapter delegates as this information was incorrectly listed in ADEA publications.
-As Dr. Suzuki has reported, our records are being digitized. Once a membership database has been generated it will become available on the website.
-I have created an archive of all past electronic Bulletins. Once all our past paper Bulletins have been scanned, they too will be placed in this archive.
-Finally I would like to urge each delegate to visit our website. There is a vast amount of information available. Some of it of an extremely timely nature. I also ask each delegate to pass onto his/her chapter secretary the importance of providing information on your chapter's activities. For it is from this information that future recipients for the Chapter Award will be selected.
-Bulletin and Web Expenses: $118.
