In compliance with Article IV, Section 10, of the Bylaws of the Supreme Chapter, this report is hereby tendered by the Secretary.

During 2002 a total of 673 new members were elected (665 in 2001); subdivided into 3 areas: 532 alumni (526 in 2001), 115 faculty (112 in 2001), and 26 honorary (27 in 2001).  33 certificates of life membership were conferred.  2 certificates of recognition were presented.

Four  chapters failed to comply with Article X, Section 7 of the Supreme Chapter Bylaws by failing to pay their dues by December 31, 2002.

Four chapters failed to have a delegate at the 2002 Annual Business Meeting.  These chapters were notified by letter concerning their absences and were referred to Article X, Section 7 of the Bylaws regarding loss of recognition if their delegate is again absent in 2003.

A solicitation was made of the component chapters for the names of individuals whom they would recommend for officership in the Supreme Chapter.  The Nominating Committee reviewed the applications submitted.

This report concludes with the Secretary-Treasurer's annual appeal to component chapter secretaries to provide the information necessary for the operation of the Central Office in the maintenance of accurate files (most important are the Necrology and the annual reports).
