-I am pleased to report that the 2005-2006 Bulletin was placed on-line in October 2005. -So
that we may stay in touch as to what is happening at the local level, The BULLETIN
contains a “Component Chapter Activities” page.
An e-letter was sent to each component chapter secretary in June 2005
inviting him/her to send information about their chapter’s activities.
Those chapters that responded are included on this page of the BULLETIN.
-An e-letter was sent to each component chapter secretary in January, 2006 advising each chapter of the requirement of providing a delegate to the annual meeting of the Supreme Chapter and providing an annual report. In addition, the letter informed each chapter that the Supreme Chapter has developed a policy proposal on the use and misuse of OKU membership and the accompanying revisions to our bylaws. A web link was provided and each chapter was asked to review the documents and to instruct its delegate as to how to vote on these matters. Finally, the secretary was asked to remind their chapter delegate to download and review a copy of Minutes from our 2005 annual business meeting. -Article X, Section 11 of the bylaws requires each component chapter to provide an annual report 30 days prior to this meeting. To facilitate the requirement of providing an annual chapter report, an electronic form was placed on the website which allows a component chapter secretary to submit an annual chapter report electronically. -A notice was placed online announcing our annual meeting. The announcement contained the date, time and location of the meeting. In addition, links were provided so that delegates could download the proposed bylaws revisions and Minutes from our 2005 meeting. -All order forms are on the website in an interactive PDF format. A component chapter secretary need only call up the form, fill it out in his/her browser window and print out the completed form, place it in an envelope with a check and mail it to Jan John. This feature saves the Supreme Chapter the expense of mailing out this information. -A secure folder has been placed on the website archiving minutes from past annual meetings. The minutes placed on this page to date are from meeting of 2002-2005. The username and password for this page is available to any component chapter secretary by request. -The website is kept as current and accurate as possible so that members can turn to the website for information. The list of component chapter secretary-treasurers (with their mailing address, e-mail address and telephone numbers) is as current as the information that is on hand at the Supreme Chapter. Dates have been placed on each page informing the visitor as to the last update of that page. -As I begin to put together the 2006 issue of the BULLETIN, I will contact each component chapter secretary asking about activities. Please be sure to not only include a list of activities, but also include pictures. Please remember, that the Chapter Award Selection Committee uses this formation along with the information submitted in your “Annual Chapter Report” in determining the recipient of the annual “Chapter Award.” Please be sure let me know what is happening at your chapter and please be sure to include pictures. -Academic attire: 18 chapters ordered 260 stoles. Please do not forget to send pictures of your members in their new academic attire. -Website maintenance fee: $299. |
