A Message from the President
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental honor society.
OKU was founded in 1914-admission and membership being limited to those dental students who have distinguished themselves by excellence in scholarship, while demonstrating exemplary traits of character and potential qualities for future professional growth and attainments. This year, 2014, is the Centennial Anniversary of OKU, which was celebrated in San Antonio, March 16, 2014 at the 2014 Annual Session of the American Dental Education Association. Over 130 members enjoyed the excitement of our Centennial Reception and Celebration. I hope that all 60 component chapters of OKU have planned a special tribute during 2014 to celebrate this momentous anniversary year. We welcome photographs from each chapter to post in the Bulletin. A beautiful centennial pin was cast for this event with details listed under the "100th Anniversary Celebration" for those interested.
I invite you to explore our website where you may learn more about OKU, dentistry’s honor society, and the requirements for membership.
Dr. Sharon C. Siegel
